Tahlka news Bureau, New Delhi: Twelve suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were on Wednesday morning arrested by 12 special cell teams in Delhi. Raids had begun on Tuesday evening and were conducted in Delhi's Inderpuri area and Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.
Special cell of Delhi Police targeted a homegrown network of Jaish-e-Mohammad.�Reportedly, out of the 12 suspected terrorists, eight belong to Delhi and four from UP.
One radical Muslim youth from Delhi and another from Saharanpur have been picked up in a joint operation of IB and Delhi police. The Delhi boy had suffered burn injuries when a bomb he was making exploded accidentally. On interrogation, it was found that He had been in touch with Yousuf al Hindi and also claimed to be a Jaish activist. 10 of his contacts have also been detained for questioning.
According to sources, the motive of the terrorists was to attack the major installations and the sensitive areas. The JeM suspects are being quizzed about financing source of IEDs, as the explosives was recovered from some of them. The Delhi Police will hold a press conference at 2 PM on Wednesday in connection with the arrest.
