Tahlka news Bureau, Gaya: A 19-year-old boy was shot dead in Bihar 's Gaya on Saturday night allegedly by the son of a Janata Dal (United) leader for overtaking his SUV. MLC's son was allegedly drunk when the incident occurred and returning from a marriage party. Aditya Sachdeva, son of a businessman, who was travelling in a car with his friends when he allegedly overtook the Range Rover. Meanwhile, Rampur Police has detained Bindi Yadav, husband of Manorama Devi, and Rajesh Kumar, bodyguard of JDU MLC in connection with the killing of Sachdeva. While their son is still on the run, Rampur police questioning him for further information. Defending his son, Bindi Yadav informed that "my son was driving the car and those four persons in other car were drunk. They started overtaking his car and stopped my son on the way. They then pulled him out of the car and started beating him." During scuffle, my son took out his licensed pistol in defence and shot the man, it happened by mistake, he added. We respect law and will act upon it, said Bindi Yadav. Noteworthy, Manorama Devi is a member of Bihar's Legislative Council. Her husband Bindi Yadav is a 'notorious' strongman. On the contrary to Bindi Yadav's statement, Aditya's friend Aayush told that 'they assaulted my friends and fired shots because of which my friend died'. Accepting the fact Ayush further said, we had tried overtaking their car, but they started firing shots in the air. One of them was wearing a commando dress, he added. Taking note of the issue, JD(U) leader Ali Anwar has said that "Anyone taking law in their hands will not be spared, such people can not be protected by the party". Everyone is equal before law, appropriate action must be taken against people indulging in criminal activities, said JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi.
