Mumbai:�Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, Richa Chadda starrer Sarbjit is all set to hit the screens on May 20.
Sarbjit will be premiered at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival on May 15.
Filmmaker Omung Kumar's Sarbjit, �The heart-wrenching film is based on the life of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan.
He expired in an attack from his jail inmate in Pakistan. The flick shows Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur's struggle for 23 years for her brother's freedom.
The director Omung Kumar said the film Sarbjit is a story that needs to be told and owing to its varied audience, Cannes is a prestigious platform to showcase the film.
The director is looking forward to achieve a positive response for the film from the global viewers.
The 69th annual Cannes Film Festival is currently being held from 11 to 22 May 2016.
�Australian director George Miller�has been announced as the President of the Jury for the main competition.
�French actor Laurent Lafitte has been announced as the host for the opening and closing ceremonies.
�On 15 March it was announced that Japanese director Naomi Kawase would serve as the Cin�fondation and Short Film Jury president.American director Woody Allen's film Caf� Society has been selected to open the festival.
