New Delhi: The Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi on Saturday called for an all political party meeting to discuss on the issue that the Electronic Voting Machines are non-tamperable and secured.

Zaidi, while speaking to the media said, "We are going to hold an all party meeting soon about how our EVMs are non-tamperable and secured."
He discussed that the commission intends to use Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail in all coming elections to bring in more transparency and boosting the confidence of people in the electoral process.
Earlier, a the government has sanctioned funds of Rs 3,173.47 crore to buy 16.15 lakh VVPATs as sought by the EC.
The poll panel has already placed order for the same with Bharatiya Electronics Ltd and Electronics Corporation of India Ltd and expects to get the machines by September 2018.
After the latest assembly polls in five states, opposition parties raised question over the integrity of EVMs.
