SRINAGAR: An army convoy was attacked by a militant group today near a hospital near Parimpora- Pathanchawk bypass road here today, in which atleast two soldiers were injured in the crossfire, the police said.
The police official said some miscreants started pelting stones at the police and the paramilitary CRPF personnel soon after the incident, triggering clashes.
He said the militants opened fire on the convey near SKIMS Hospital Bemina at around 1.15 PM.
Two soldiers on board the last vehicle of the convey were injured in the attack. The convey was on its way from Parimpora to Pathanchawk when the attack took place.
The troops retaliated, forcing the militants to flee the spot, an official said.
He said the combing operation to track down the militants has been started and the area has been cordoned off.
Efforts are on to restore the area.
