New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the slew of projects in Surat Gujarat today. This is the PM's first visit to Surat after the hub of patidar agitation for reservation in government jobs and educational institutions, after assuming the office in 2014.
On Sunday (April 16), Prime Minister Modi sounded the poll bugle in his home state conducting a massive roadshow in Surat Gujarat is due for Assembly elections later this year.
PM Modi inaugurated the kiran Multi Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre which is build by a private trust in Surat. Later he inaugurated the Diamond manufacturing Unit in Surat. Where he addressed the gathering of Diamond Merchants at Icchapur there he said Indian Diamonds are popular across the world, but the traders in india should now aspire to excel in the gems and jeweler market as well. "Surat has made a mark in the diamond industry but can we now look at the entire gems and jewellery sector" said PM Modi.
Later, PM will inaugurate the Cattle Feed Plant and Ice-Cream Plant of Samul Dairy in Bajipura Village in Tapi district. and also a lay foundation stone for dairy products plant at Nava Pardi.
He will also address a large gathering there. The state BJP unit claims that more than four lakh persons, including three lakh women from tribal-dominated areas, would attend the gathering.
Modi will then visit Silvassa town in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, where he will address a gathering apart from inaugurating a few projects.
