Sulkhan Singh assumes charge as new UP DGP

Lucknow: New DGP of Uttar Pradesh Sulkhan Singh takes charge of his post as DGP of UP on Saturday morning. 1980 batch IPS officer Sulkhan Singh replaces Javeed Ahmed who is now been shifted to DG of UP. Ahmed took Sulkhan Singh to the chair of DGP wishes and congratulates him.

After taking charge Sulkhan Singh addressed media he said Police is for Public, UP police will be able to work freely, everyone's dignity will be maintained. He also quoted our work is to protect the public and we will recall our work done.

After appointing as 55 DGP of UP Sulkhan Singh has cleared its agenda towards Uttar Pradesh says the appointment of officers or Police staff will be done only on the basis of Merit. Officers who are doing good job or wanted to do excellent work will be awarded, this will help their morale to work more good and efficient.

Sulkhan Singh is the senior most officer from 1980 IPS batch, according to the reports he will retire in month of September.

Addressing media Singh said anybody indulging in criminal activities wil not be spared, whether from ruling party or not, we have strict orders from UP CM. and if found any malicious mischief done will work with total fairness said UP DGP Sulkhan Singh.

New UP DGP Sulkhan Singh is from Jorharpur district near Banda- Fatehpur border in Uttar Pradesh. He had completed his starting studies from Bajrang Inter college in Banda after that he did Engineering from IIT Roorkee college, Sulkhan has also studied LLB. He belongs to very simple family.

He is the senior most IPS officer from 1980 batch, earlier he had been in charge of various major posts in police headquarters in Allahabad, training and jail departments.
