New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in Delhi today to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah. Adityanath, who took charge as the CM on March 19, is expected to discuss distribution of Cabinet portfolios with the two senior leaders.
The UP CM is also scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj before flying back to Lucknow in the evening.
Know the reason for delay in Portfolio distribution
Distribution of Cabinet berths has turned out be to a headache for the newly appointed CM. Reports suggest Adityanath wants to keep the ministry with himself so as to improve his state's poor law and order. On the other hand, deputy CM and BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit chief Keshav Prasad Maurya is also said to be interested in the Home Ministry with him. A final decision in this regard is expected to be taken by BJP's leadership in Delhi.
