The victim was a resident of Khamaria village and had got married in 2013. For over one year he had been living with his in-laws after he was taken ill.The victim had been diagnosed with AIDS and fearing stigma, kept it as a secret. He was undergoing counselling for a while at a local Anti-Retro Viral Therapy (ART) centre, the police said.
According to a report, the man was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday as his wife and in-laws failed to provide any satisfactory reason for his sudden death. The victim's family were informed as preparations for the cremation were being done.
It was only after his family reached that they noticed injury marks on the body and the police was informed. The police said that the post-mortem report has revealed that the victim had been strangulated to death. A case has been lodged against the victim's wife, father-in-law and two others. No arrests have been made so far in this case.
