PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber triggered a powerful blast after hitting a vehicle carrying Pakistani paramilitary force members in which to two people died and several others were injured on Monday morning in Peshawar, Hayatabad area.
The outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban have taken responsibility of the blast via a statement, sent to the local media outlets by its spokesperson.
The biker born attacker rammed into army convoy while travelling from its camp in Hayatabad to the headquarters in Qila Bala Hisar. Two security personnel's including a senior officer succumbed to his injured at the hospital.
Two vehicles that were part of the convoy were damaged in the blast.
The blast was loud and impactfull that two other vehicles were also completely damaged, who were part of the convoy. Ten others including the passers by were also critically injured near Bagh-e-Naran chowk in Hayatabad.
Security personnel cordoned off the area after the explosion as rescue services shifted the injured to Hayatabad Medical Hospital.
The attack comes a day after when Pakistan announced to launch an operation in Khyber tribal region to roust Islamic State militants.
