UN chief Guetrres criticizes Israil on New Regulation Bill

NEW YORK: United Nation Secretary- General Antonio Guetrres on Tuesday deeply regretted the adaptation by the Israli's body, the Knesset, of the so called "Regulation Bill," saying the measures contravenes international law and will have "far-reached legal consequences" for the country. Israel has come under a harsh census since lawmakers passed the Regulation on Monday , with the UN saying it crossed a "thick red line" and other members of the international community warning the measures would make peace efforts more difficult.

In a statement from the UN spokesperson noted that the bill, adapted yesterday, reportedly provides immunity to settlements and outposts in the occupied West Bank that were built on privately-owned Palestinian land.

The Regulation Bill has also been criticized during a ceremony for new ambassadors at the Presidents residency in Jerusalem On Wednesday , Helene Le Gal , the French ambassador to Israel , said " a new law legalizing West Bank outposts build on Private Palestinian land damaged the israel's credibility in the eyes of the international community" .

However, the UN's Secretary-General insisted on the need to avoid any action that would derail the two-state solution, saying "all core issues should be resolved between the parties through direct negotiations on the basis of relevant Security Council resolution and mutual agreements. The United Nations stands ready to support this process." it concluded.
