Lucknow: As many as 10 new cases of dengue were confirmed in the city by the health department on Sunday. This takes the total number of dengue patients to 83 in Lucknow district. According to chief medical officer (CMO) Dr SNS Yadav, all patients are being treated and health officials have been sent to their families for apprising them of prevention measures. A team of health officials including the CMO, additional CMO and a malaria inspector inspected Mohanlalganj and spread awareness on precautions to be taken by people, focusing specially on the disposal of stagnant water. During inspection, the team found growth of larvae in a factory in the area and a hospital using inappropriate equipment to ascertain dengue instead of the recommended Elisa test. Both the owners of the factory and the hospital have been warned of strict action. Earlier, the district health committee had issued orders to all cinema hall owners to show dengue prevention messages before screening of films and during intermission.
