MK Stalin raises remarks against VK Sasikala : Its a drama to become chief minister through the backdoor

CHENNAI: The DMK on Tuesday alleged that AIDMK general secretary VK Sasikala is trying to take away peace of Tamil Nadu and turn it, to a chaotic and unstable one overnight by getting herself elected as leader of the legislature party,to be the chief minister.

In a statement, DMK working president M K Stalin wanted Governor C Vidyasagar Rao to take a decision on swearing -in of Sasikala as chief minister only after ascertaining that it would pave the way for a permanent government in the state. He added that, people in the stat did not vote for Sasikala in the assembly elections held in 2016.

The Government must consult legal experts and do the needful to tone up the administration and the steps that are being taken must also contain the consequences of the Supreme Court judgment on the disproportionate assets case against Sasilkala and her relatives," said Stalin.

Stalin raised remarks on Sasikala saying she has occupied the chief minister's chair by making party MLA sing hosannas to her in the assembly and then imprisoning all party MLAs.

Before re-entering Jayalalitha's Poes Garden residence, Sasikala said she had no wish to enter politics. But the same person, soon after Jayalalitha's death, hurriedly became general secretary and now enacts a drama to become chief minister through the backdoor, only to destabilize a stable governments, charged Stalin.

Since O Paneerselvam took charge as chief minister, I have been demanding the Government to ask him to prove the party's majority in the assembly and now it has been vindicated," said the DMK leader.

The supreme Court has said it is ready announce its decision next week.
