A Pakistani spy on Indian soil, a fugitive Pakistan refused to take

New Delhi: While, the Indian spy Kulhushan Jhadhav has been given death sentence in Pakistan, but Bhopal police has been feeding and sheltering a Pakistani spy Sajeed Muneer for almost year after he was released from the jail.

Sajeed Muneer has been jailed for 12 years for espionage but after his release, Pakistan did not responded for the extradition process, requested by the Indian government. Since then he became Bhopal police's responsibility and the district special branch (DSB) has been taking care of him for over 10 months. He is kept a a place near Koh-e-Fiza police station, one of the most picturesque location of the City of Lakes, and DSB pays for his food and other expenses necessary, says office.

Bhopal police has repeatedly written o the police HQ to his deportation process expedited but to no avail. Last week, the DSB sent another letter to remind the issue and push the envelope towards the ministry of external affairs so that the Pakistan spy is out of their hands.

"Sajaad was released from jail on June 5 after 12 years of imprisonment for spying on Army bases in Bhopal for ISI," said a police officer. Sajeed was arrested in Bhopal in 2004 following specific intelligence input while carrying confidential defense documents.

According to the Investigative reports, Muneer was lured by the ISI while he was on a haideout after he murdered a Karachi youth to avenge his brother's murder. While running away form Karachi police he came in contact with an ISI officer who offered him a deal. The Pakistani intelligence officer promised to save him from Karachi police if he is ready to work for him in India.
