NEW DELHI: The Bhartaya Janata Party (BJP) have started arrangements for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, soon after conquering the Uttar Pradesh and forming the government in the three other states in the recently held state assembly elections. While, some media reports say that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely do some major changes in his cabinet as soon as the current Parliament session is over. Major decision can be taken in the Defence Ministry which was taken over by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley after Manohat Parrikar took charge as the Goa CM.
Appointing a new Defence Minister feels like an expected move, but there can also be surprises as well. If the reports are to be believed, the current Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swara could be replaced by the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. Sushma Swaraj's recent health issue and absence from the Parliament could be one of the reasons for the switching. OM Mathur can replace Vasundhra Raje as the new CM of Rajasthan, if only the move does takes place.
Some new and younger faces are likely to be promoted by the saffron party. The 75 year-old Cabinet minister of Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises, Kalraj Sinha could be theone to pay the price for that, while Mnoj Sinha who was one of the leading contenders for the post of UP CM can be given a bigger role. Earlier, it was reported that Sinha was not quite happy with Yogi Aditynath being the CM of Uttar Prasdesh.
BJP Party President Amit Shah mentioned after the polls that he wants to take the party roots in the states that are dominated by regional parties.
The upcoming state assembly elections in Karnataka, Madhaya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan can bring in the new faces into the cabinet and Shiv Sena can bag one Minister too. This will also improve BJP's chances for President and Vice-President elections.
