New Delhi: Azam Khan, the Samajwaadi Party leader, who is facing the heat for his statement against the Indian Army, said on Thursday that his comments were misconducted by the media.
Khan said that his comments affected the Indian Army's morale and said, "My statement was misconducted by media. How can army's morale fall because of me. I am nobody. Army's moral's moral fell when Prime Minister Modi went to Pakstan."
"I am BJP's item girl. They don't have anyone else to talk about. They even fought elelctions here focusng on me", Khan said.
On Wednesday, Khan waded into another controversy with statements that appeared to m ake allegations of rape against soldiers.
"Armed woman attacked soldiers and cut off their private parts. They cut parts they had problem with. India shoud be ashamed... How will the country face the world now?" Khan said at a public event in his constituency Rampur.
The comments triggered the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sambit Patra immediately. "Azam Khan never treated India as his country... His allegation that the Indian Army outraged the modesty of our mothers and sisters in Kashmir shows his own narrow mindset. PM Narendra Modi and US President Doneld Trump condemned terrorism emanating from Pakistan, but hours later politicians like Azam Khan are defending terrorists," Patra said.
Khan further said that he is Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) item girl because that saffron party has only one topic in Uttar Prdesh to talk about by playing politics with his statements.
