New Delhi: The CBI started its probe on the Shravan Sahu murder case on Tuesday. He was shot allegedly outside his residence for filing the case of his son's murder by a gangster.
Sharavan, the 61 year-old trader had been shot dead by bike-borne assailants near his residence in Daalmandi locality under Saadatganj police station.
Earlier, his son Ayush Sahu was allegedly gunned down in October 2013 in Thakurganj area by Gangster Aqeel, was threatening the trader to stop pursuing the murder case. The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, comprising justices Amershwar Pratap Sahi and Sanjay Harkuli, had been asked also asked the agency to probe why no security was given to Sahu.
Former state government under Akhilesh Yadav had told the court that it has no objection to the CBI probing the case. The Lucknow police solved the case within 15 days by identifying seven sharp-shooter including Aqeel who was the mastermind. The agency has now registered an FIR in the case under charges of criminal charges and murder.
