India's wrestler Narsingh Yadav freestyle 74 kg men's fails, in dope test for upcoming Riogames. Rio Olympics-bound westler Narsingh Yadav fails dope test, quoting the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) director general. The government, in a press release, confirmed the development without naming the athlete. One wrestler has been detected by National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) as dope positive. An Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP) has been constituted by NADA under its rules for hearing the case. Its first hearing was held yesterday in which the wrestler was given an opportunity to defend himself. After the hearing, the panel has asked NADA for some further reports. After these reports are received, the panel would hold further hearing in the matter, In November 2015, Narsingh Yadav won a bronze at the world championships in Las Vegas, earning a quota place for India in the mens 74kg freestyle category. Narsingh was recently in a controversy for tussle over the Rio berth with the two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, after his name went missing from the list of probables, and challenged the Indian Olympic Associations decision to send Yadav. The Mumbai-based Yadav also insisted that having claimed the quota place, and as Indias best prospect, he deserves to go to the Olympics. As the matter reached the judicial quarters, the Delhi high court pulled up Sushil Kumar for questioning the IOAs selection policy and pointed out that no trials were held when he was sent to the 2004 Athens Olympics as the quota winner for India. The Delhi high court accepted the Wrestling Federation of Indias stand that 26-year-old Narsingh Yadav was a better bet in the mens 74-kg freestyle category in the upcoming Games starting August 5.
